Any child who responds to sim­ple com­mands can be toi­let trained regard­less of that child’s spe­cif­ic needs.

The toi­let train­ing issues observed in chil­dren with spe­cial needs are sim­i­lar to those in chil­dren with­out spe­cial needs, but may be more persistent.

Dr. Daum is a board cer­ti­fied pedi­a­tri­cian and pedi­atric gas­troen­terol­o­gist with 45 years expe­ri­ence in this field.  His spe­cial­ty is work­ing with chil­dren who are delayed or resis­tant to toi­let train­ing and for whom the typ­i­cal and usu­al meth­ods of toi­let train­ing have not worked.
